Please help us raise £60,000 to
create a Northern Memorial to all
those who fought and died in the Battle of Britain.

The Northern Memorial will be a lasting tribute to those brave men and women from throughout the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, the conquered countries of Europe and beyond who defended this country during the Battle of Britain. The Memorial will feature a full size 1940’s replica Spitfire aircraft with the markings of famous Battle of Britain fighter pilots and squadrons with North of England links.
It will be sited in a reconstruction of a WW2 revetment or blast pen that is being built on land next to the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum at Lakeside in Doncaster. In 1940 this was RAF Doncaster and home to 616 (South Yorkshire) Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force.
When complete the Memorial will be linked to a visitor center where young and old will be able to explore and understand the significance of the Battle where “so much was owed by so many to so few”.
